废墟是历史的更替，是被废弃的遗存，被废弃后有着不同寻常的意义，虽废弃破败，但产生的废墟形象作为重要的想象体，诞生许多文艺作品。作为形象表征，其意义不仅是昭示历史，更重要的是诠释主体性。在当代艺术如火如荼的实践中，废墟形象和符号常常被用来进行艺术创作，这和当代艺术某些怪诞、颠覆、拼贴、复制的特征契合，中国当代艺术的兴起就与废墟有关。本文通过后现代表征理论分析历史文化形态废墟形象表征；因城市化进程致使的拆迁废墟形象表征；因工业化进程留下的废弃厂房废墟表征；关注这些废墟符号意义生产过程和影响。对于了解中国当代艺术，理解废墟美学有着重要意义。

Abstract
As deserted heritages, the ruins represent historical changes and are of unusual significance.Though deserted and ramshackle, the ruins can be regarded as important carriers forimagination and inspire a lot of literary works. As image characterization, their significancenot only reveals the historical trajectory, but also interprets the subjectivity. In contemporaryart practice, ruins image and symbol are often used for artistic creation. This fits well with thecharacteristics of contemporary art, including absurdness, subversion, collage and copy. Therise of contemporary Chinese art is related to the ruins. In this paper, by means ofpost-modern representation theory, the author analyzes the image representation of historicaland cultural ruins, the image representation of urbanization process-induced demolitiondebris, and the image representation of abandoned building ruins left by industrializationprocess, and focuses on the production process and influence of these ruins symbols. Thispaper is of great significance to the understanding of contemporary Chinese arts and ruinsaesthetics.
